Unofficial Public Emergency Information 4/11/2012

The Fayetteville Fire/Emergency Management Department received several reports this morning of an individual in the area of Bragg Blvd., near Stamper Rd., announcing public emergency address information from a civilian vehicle by some unknown means of amplification. This public address information did not originate from either the Fayetteville Fire or Police Departments.

Uniformed City of Fayetteville personnel will notify citizens either door to door, or from a readily identifiable city vehicle, of any need to evacuate an area. Concerned citizens are also urged to call 911 in the event of any emergency or perceived threat.

Concerned citizens can monitor current information from both the Fayetteville Fire and Police departments by logging on to their websites at www.bravethefire.com or www.bethebadge.com. Citizens are also encouraged to become friends of each department’s Facebook page for current and accurate information. The link to each department’s Facebook page is on their respective websites. In addition, Citywide updates can be received on your cell phone, or by email, by subscribing to www.nixle.com.   This is a free service.
