During November, City residents should have received in their mailboxes an important envelope. The envelope contained the City's loose leaf collection schedule for this year and the holiday solid waste collection schedule for 2013-2014. "This is a change in the way we distribute this information and we want to let residents know to look for the envelope in the mail this year," said Jerry Dietzen, Environmental Services director. Fayetteville-Cumberland Parks & Recreation has been awarded a "Partner in Prevention" designation, a nationally-recognized public standard to end child sexual abuse (CSA).
The designation was awarded for Parks & Recreation's commitment to protecting children by training its staff on how to prevent and recognize the signs of and react responsibly to CSA.
