Fayetteville’s Economic Stimulus Recovery Efforts: Transparent and Accountable
Mission
The City of Fayetteville aggressively pursues a wide range of projects through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 in order to benefit our city and our citizens with new infrastructure, increased employment opportunities and improved delivery of City services. To that end, we want our citizens to be well-informed about the economic stimulus programs and opportunities that become available to the City of Fayetteville. This site is designed to communicate to our citizens the opportunities the City is pursuing. The City’s goal for this website is to enhance accountability and transparency as the organization is committed to the Government Information and Focus on Transparency (GIFT) program.
Method
City staff pursues funding with a team approach. Every tool at the City’s disposal will be applied to ensure that Fayetteville positions itself to take full advantage and emerge as a ber, healthier community. The federal dollars received will be spent on worthwhile projects and will bring jobs to the City and surrounding communities. Watch this site for updates as progress is made.
Allocation vs Award
Allocation: Funds designated for a special purpose that the City must apply for in order to receive the funds via award.
Award: The release of funds to the City for a project as a result of an application.
